4CAS Traffic Creation Utility

Check out our new Traffic Creation Utility(TCU).

Traffic Creation Unit

This allows us to click directly on the CDTI, automatically capturing latitude and longitude to create the start and end positions of a new traffic ship. After typing in a ground speed and altitude on the main panel, 4CAS calculates the impact on the MS, given the current ownship scenario in use. Resultant conflict regions are displayed graphically by 4CAS. Arrow buttons allow micro-tuning of the traffic start and end points to precisely sculpt the scenario's 4D conflict geometry.

What you see above is an actual traffic situation. When the conflict geometry is exactly the way intended, the data structure can be saved to file. Then, for the purposes of experimentation, this file can be reloaded. During flight, the TCU handles the movement of the sculpted traffic, writing positions, headings, and speeds into the MS Flight Simulator data structure. This allows TCU traffic to be displayed, either with or without standard Microsoft Flight Simulator Artificial Intelligence traffic (AI Traffic). The blue traffic paths and ID numbers are displayed only during scenario building, not during normal flight.

Frequently asked questions

  1. Can I get a copy of the TCU?
  2. Does the TCU work with any other software or games?
Can I get a copy of the TCU?
Well, the real issue is that you wouldn't want it. See #2.

Does the TCU work with any other software or games besides 4CAS?
No. This is custom-written by me for us. It only functions within the context of the entire 4CAS system.
