MST Research and Development Staff

William Knecht, Ph.D.

I am currently an Engineering Research Psychologist and Principal Investigator at the Civil Aerospace Medical Institute, Federal Aviation Administration, Oklahoma City. CAMI is one of the FAA's two primary U.S. aviation human factors research units. My focus there is research in general aviation flightdeck human factors issues. I also provide mutual math and statistical support to other P.I.s.

Having written and researched both flight simulator performance metrics and the time-to-contact-based CDTI for a major project on free flight at the University of Minnesota, I provide MST with core expertise in experimental psychology, aviation psychology, math, and computer programming. I coded 4CAS.
